Overview
Maison Boréale is a fictional small-batch roaster inspired by the boreal forest. We used it to explore how a small producer can build a distinctive, bilingual brand that feels premium on a shelf and converts online.
The challenge
Small consumer brands face a crowded, visual market:
- Standing out among many similar specialty products
- Expressing craft and origin without clichés
- Keeping packaging, website and social posts consistent
- Selling online with a small team and limited time
Strategy
We built the brand on a simple, ownable idea:
- Positioning around seasonal roasts tied to the northern landscape
- A bilingual tone of voice that is warm, precise and unpretentious
- A modular label system that scales across products
- An online shop focused on subscriptions and repeat purchase
Execution
The identity system works across physical and digital touchpoints:
- A custom wordmark and a compact monogram for small applications
- A palette drawn from bark, ember and lichen tones with accessible pairings
- Product pages structured around taste, origin and brewing guidance
- Templates for social posts and seasonal announcements
